Trio Op 33 #3
for bassoon, violin, and cello
by François René Gebauer (1773-1845)- French composer, professor, and bassoonist and the son of a German military musician
I. Allegro fieramento
II. Rondo Allegretto
As a composer, Gebauer wrote mainly for wind instruments: for his own instrument (bassoon), he wrote 13 concertos, several sets of duets, a tutor, and six caprices for solo bassoon. As well as three quartets for the more usual combination of bassoon and string trio, he published a set of three trios for bassoon, violin, and cello, of which the present work is the last. It was published by Charles Sieber (Paris).
Edited by William Waterhouse.
