Originally for English horn and orchestra, this is the authorized piano reduction by Simon Smith. This work focuses on Maundy Thursday and its musical material includes references to plainsong for that day, Pange lingua and Ubi caritas, as well as a Bach chorale (Ach wie nichtig). 
The orchestra parts are available on a rental-only basis from Boosey & Hawkes.
